Terms and conditions

1. The promoter is Sydney Zoo Pty Limited ABN 55 168 970 090 of 700 Great Western Highway, Bungarribee, NSW 2767.
2. This competition is a game of chance. No permit is required in NSW as prize does not exceed  applicable regulatory thresholds.
3. Entry Restrictions
   • Entrants must be 18 years of age or over to be eligible.
   • Entrants must be residents of Australia.
   • Entrants must not be an employee of Sydney Zoo, Carnival Cruise Line, or an immediate family member of a either organisation or any entity associated with this competition.
4. Competition opens 25/09/26 at 9am AEST and closes 12/10/26 at 9am AEDT. One (1) winner will be randomly selected on 12/10/26 at 10am AEDT using a compliant random selection generator. The winner will be contacted by email within five (5) business days of the draw. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that the details in their entry are correct and no responsibility will be taken by Sydney Zoo for any incorrect or out of date information. Entrants must be contactable via email.

6. 1 (one) winner will be selected for this competition, the winner will receive:
   • One (1) Carnival Cruise Line 9-day Great Barrier Reef cruise for the winner and up to three (3) accompanying guests (total 4 people) in a quad-share Oceanview room onboard Carnival Splendor.
   • Cruise departs Sydney on 26 May 2027.
   • Total prize value: $4,968.00 (incl. GST)
7. If a winner is selected and legitimately contacted, no unclaimed prize draw will take place for this competition. In the event a winner does not redeem the prize within a 3 month period (or as mutually agreed), the prize is issued but remains unredeemed. Promoter is not liable for reissue or redraw.
8. Special Conditions
   1. Entrants may enter the competition once. Any attempt to enter multiple times will result in the last submitted entry being accepted and all prior entries being made void. 
   2. The prize is supplied by Carnival Cruise Line and is subject to Carnival Cruise Line's booking, travel, redemption and passenger terms and conditions.
   3. The winner and travelling companions must comply with all booking requirements, travel documentation requirements, and any conditions imposed by Carnival Cruise Line.
   4. Any costs associated with travel to and from the departure port, spending money, travel insurance, passports, visas, additional accommodation, onboard purchases, gratuities, or any other incidental expenses are the responsibility of the winner unless expressly stated otherwise.
   5. The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
   6. If any prize (or part of any prize) becomes unavailable for any reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with another prize of equal or greater value, subject to any written directions of a relevant regulatory authority.
   7. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process.
   8. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to accept any entry which it considers to be inappropriate, offensive or otherwise inconsistent with these Terms and Conditions.
   9. By entering the promotion, entrants consent to their name and entry details being used by the Promoter for promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
      
   10. By entering this promotion and selecting the option to receive updates, entrants consent to receiving marketing communications from Sydney Zoo and may unsubscribe at any time.
   11. If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated, the Promoter reserves the right, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion.
9. All expenses incurred in relation to enjoyment of the prize, other than those expressly included in the prize, are the sole responsibility of the winner and their travelling companions.
   
10. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability for any loss, damage or injury suffered in connection with the promotion or use of the prize.

Prize Supplier Terms and Conditions

Prize

1. The total prize pool value is up to AUD$4,968.00 (incl. GST).
2. There is one (1) prize to be awarded.
3. The winner will receive one (1) Carnival Cruise Line 9-day Great Barrier Reef cruise for the winner and up to three (3) accompanying guests (total 4 people) in a quad-share oceanview room onboard Carnival Splendor departing Sydney on Wednesday 26 May 2027 (the ‘Prize’).
4. The Prize includes:
   1. select onboard main meals and snacks (with the exception of those restaurants and meals which have an additional cover charge);
   2. select onboard activities, evening entertainment and comedy shows (with the exception of those activities and facilities which have an additional cover charge) as well as kids clubs;
   3. taxes, fees and port expenses;
5. The Prize and all elements of Prize(s) must be taken as is. Changes to the cabin type or number of guests are not permitted. Upgrades, guest additions or changes to the itinerary are not permitted (even if the winner offers to pay the difference).
6. Itineraries are not guaranteed and onboard offerings are subject to change.
7. The Prize is subject to the standard terms and conditions of Carnival UK Ltd. trading as Carnival Cruise Line (ABN 23 107 998 443), a company registered in the United Kingdom (‘Prize Supplier’). It is a condition of accepting the Prize that the winner (and their accompanying guests, if applicable) must comply with all conditions of use of the Prize. Award and redemption of the Prize is subject to the winner agreeing to these Prize Supplier Terms and Conditions.
8. The Prize is subject to availability at the time of booking. Winner details must be provided to and confirmed with the Prize Supplier by 31 March 2027. If the winner does not provide all requested information by the date, the Prize may be deemed forfeited, subject to the promotor’s terms and conditions and any applicable regulatory requirements. If the Prize (or part of the Prize) is unavailable, Prize Supplier, at its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the Prize (or that part of the Prize) with a prize to substantially equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.

General Prize Terms and Conditions

• Name changes are not permitted and Prize Supplier’s cancellation policy in the Carnival Cruise Line Ticket Contract will apply. See Carnival Cruise Lines Ticket Contract at https://www.carnival.com.au/about-carnival/legal-notice/ticket-contract which passengers will be bound by.

1. With the exception of any expenses specifically included in the Prize, all:
   1. costs associated with transport to/from the departure port will be the responsibility of the winner and accompanying guests and will not be borne by the Prize Supplier; and
   2. pre and/or post accommodation, shore excursions or other onboard activities, spending money, additional meals, taxes, insurance, passports, visas, vaccinations, transfers, items of a personal nature, in-room charges and all other ancillary costs are not included.
2. The winner and their accompanying guests are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary and valid travel documentation including, passports, any requisite visas and insurance. The winner and their accompanying guests will be responsible for any expenses incurred in obtaining necessary travel documentation, including any fines or penalties incurred as a result of not having the requisite travel documentation.
3. Prize(s), or any unused portion of a prize, is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. If the winner is, for whatever reason, unable to travel on an eligible sailing within the redemption period specified by the Prize Supplier, the Prize will be forfeited, subject to the promoter’s terms and conditions and any applicable regulatory requirements.
4. By accepting the Prize, the winner agrees to participate in and co-operate with all reasonable media editorial requests by the Prize Supplier, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed, and the winner grants the Prize Supplier a perpetual and non-exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the winner will not be entitled to any fee for use.
5. With the exception of the intellectual property rights set out in the Sydney Zoo Great Barrier Reef Cruise Giveaway Terms and Conditions and these Prize Supplier Terms and Conditions, the winner agrees they will not sell or otherwise provide their story and/or photographs to any media or other organisation.
6. The winner must provide valid identification to Prize Supplier. The winner must be over the age of 18 years (subject to applicable age restrictions). Alcohol consumption and gambling onboard are restricted to passengers aged 18 years of age or older or otherwise as specified in the Carnival Cruise Line Ticket Contract. A credit card imprint or cash deposit will be required from the winner and/or accompanying guests at check-in in order to board the cruise ship, for all incidental charges.
7. Prize Supplier accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from winning n this promotion. Independent financial advice should be sought.
8. Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, the Prize Supplier (including its respective officers, employees and agents) is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Prize Supplier’s control); b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Prize Supplier) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Prize Supplier; d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; e) if the cruise is delayed, postponed or cancelled for any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Prize Supplier; f) any tax liability incurred by a winner or Entrant; or g) use of and/or taking of the prize.
9. Prize Supplier collects personal information in order to administer the Prize and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to co-operative partners, agents, contractors, service providers and suppliers. This may include disclosures to organisations and as required to regulatory authorities in and outside Australia, including in places such as in the United States and New Zealand. Entry is conditional on providing this information. Prize Supplier may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the winner in accordance with its Privacy Policy available here: https://www.carnival.com.au/about-carnival/legal-notice/privacy-notice. Entrants should direct any request to opt out, access, update or correct information to Prize Supplier.
