Why do I have to choose a visit date and arrival time?
We are limiting numbers by day (capacity limits include daily member limits) and at each session to avoid excessive crowding, and to guarantee everyone has an amazing day out at our zoo.
What does arrival time mean?
The arrival time you select is the time you should arrive at the zoo between. There are no limits on how long you stay at the zoo once you arrive.
How can I change or reschedule my visit date?
Easy! You can reschedule up until 11.59pm the day before your visit date. Simply click here and enter your name and the reservation number from your email and select another available visit date.
Do you offer concession tickets?
We offer concession rates for the following:
- Full-time students (with photo ID showing a valid date or ability to login to school intranet to show current registration)
- Pension Card holders
- Seniors Card holders
- Health Care Card holders
- DVA Card holders
- Visitors over the age of 65 (with drivers licence or passport)
Valid identification must be provided at the ticket desk or express entry on arrival. Photo ID may also be required. Please have your cards ready for easy entry. These discounts are only available to the card holder, all other visitors (including other names on the card) will pay regular ticket prices.
I am a carer, do I get discounted entry?
We accept the companion card which grants free entry for carers if a concession ticket is purchased for the person being cared for.
How do I purchase an Unlimited Pass or Platinum Pass?
Simply choose an Unlimited Pass or Platinum Pass online, select the number of guests and the first date you plan on visiting Sydney Zoo.
What does the Unlimited Pass include?
An Unlimited Pass includes 12 months unlimited entry to Sydney Zoo, no joining fee and free parking (subject to terms and conditions).
What does the Platinum Pass include?
A Platinum Pass includes 12 months unlimited entry to Sydney Zoo, no joining fee, free parking, 1x Sydney Zoo cap, a bring a friend ticket (1x FREE day ticket, $25 off first animal encounter voucher and 10% off on all food, beverage and retail purchases (subject to terms and conditions).
When does my Unlimited Pass or Platinum Pass start?
Each pass is valid for 365 days from the date purchased.
What sort of photo do I need to upload?
We recommend a passport/ portrait style photo for each individual pass holder. Please refer to photo reference guidelines in the My Account portal.
What if I’ve lost my booking confirmation email?
You can access your pass anytime by signing in to the My Account portal.
Do I need to book future visits?
Yes. We are limiting numbers each day to avoid excessive crowding. This means that you’ll need to re-book future visits online via the My Account portal.
How do I edit my account details?
Simply log in to the My Account portal to update photos, contact details, and more.
How do I renew my pass or membership?
All primary account holders will receive a notification via email, SMS and My Account portal 30 - 45 days out from the expiry date. Simply log in to your My Account portal of your current membership and follow the prompts to renew.
When will my renewed membership take effect?
Your renewed membership will take effect from the date of purchase. Any days remaining on your current membership will be added.
What happens if I do nothing?
If you do not manually renew your pass or membership by the expiry date, and you still hold valid payment details linked in your account, you will be automatically renewed.
How do I cancel?
If you are within your pass or membership expiry, you can cancel ay any time, however, no refunds will be provided.
If you do not wish to automatically renew at the time of your current expiry, please login to your My Account portal and remove all payment details. You will not be automatically renewed if there are no payment details in your account. If at any time you need assistance with cancelling, please contact our team via members@sydneyzoo.com
How do I add or remove someone from my membership?
Please email members@sydneyzoo.com and one of our friendly team members will assist you. Any additional Pass or Membership holders, unless purchased at the same time, will have a different expiry and renewal date to the original purchased pass or membership.
My infant has now become a child, how can I update my membership?
Our system will automatically recognise your child’s birthday and upgrade them to a child during the membership renewal process. If you have any questions, please email our friendly team at members@sydneyzoo.com
My child turns 3 during the new membership period, should I purchase an infant or child membership?
The membership should be purchased based on your infant’s current age. This will be valid for the whole year. Next time your membership is up for renewal the age of your child will be assessed and the correct membership type will be offered.
My child turns 16 during the new membership period, should I purchase child or adult membership?
The membership should be purchased based on your child’s current age. This will be valid for the whole year. Next time your membership is up for renewal the age of your child will be assessed and the correct membership type will be offered.
When will my card be charged?
Your card will be charged on the day you manually renew your pass or membership or on the expiry date if automatic renewals are enabled in your account. Any days remaining on your current membership will be added to your new membership.
Are memberships transferable?
Memberships are not transferable. If you need to change the names or setup of your existing membership, please contact us before renewing.
Why do you securely store my credit card details?
We securely encrypt your payment details for the purpose of annual rebilling, as per the membership terms and conditions. You can delete your payment details via the Member portal at any time, which will cancel future automatic membership renewals.
Can I use a gift voucher to pay for my new membership?
Yes! Simply log in to the member portal and follow the prompts to renew. You can then add your gift voucher code to the cart at checkout.

What gift voucher types are available?
There are a range of gift vouchers including Day Tickets, Unlimited Passes, Platinum Passes, encounters, and gift vouchers with a custom value. Gift voucher recipients can redeem the value of their gift voucher for any ticket type online, or in the zoo at our restaurant, cafes, zoo shop, and other points of sale.
Can I purchase more than one gift voucher?
You can purchase multiple gift vouchers in one transaction. Just add the gift vouchers you want to purchase to your cart and complete your transaction. You will receive a separate email for each gift voucher.
How do I redeem my gift voucher?
Go to sydneyzoo.com, choose a product to purchase, then enter your gift voucher code in the voucher field at the checkout. You can also scan the QR code from your gift voucher in the zoo at our restaurant, cafes, zoo shop, and other points of sale. Gift vouchers are not valid to be redeemed on the online retail store shop.sydneyzoo.com
Can I redeem more than one gift voucher code in an online transaction?
Yes, just enter your gift voucher codes into the voucher field at the checkout.
Can I use a gift voucher to buy tickets at the zoo information desk?
Yes, however some prices may vary when purchased at the information desk than when purchased online.
Can I use a gift voucher to buy an encounter?
Yes, you can use your gift voucher to buy an encounter. Simply enter your gift voucher code in the shopping cart promo field when purchasing your encounter online.
Can I swap my voucher for another ticket type?
Regardless of the type of gift voucher you have received, you can redeem the value of your gift voucher for any ticket type online, or in the zoo at our restaurant, cafes, zoo shop, and other points of sale.
Can I use my gift voucher to purchase another gift voucher?
No, gift vouchers cannot be used to purchase another gift voucher.
Can I send a gift voucher directly to someone else as a gift?
Yes, if you would like to send a gift voucher directly to a recipient, please tick ‘Would you like to email your vouchers to a recipient as an eGift?’ when completing your booking details. A receipt and copy of the gift voucher will be sent to you via email, while your recipient will receive a separate email containing the gift voucher. Simply leave this box unticked if you do not want to send your gift voucher directly to someone else as an eGift.
What happens to any residual amount on my gift voucher after I’ve made an online purchase?
You can redeem the remaining value of your gift voucher in the zoo at our restaurant, cafes, zoo shop, and other points of sale by scanning the QR code on your email at the checkout. You can also use remaining funds for any purchase online by entering the gift voucher code in the voucher code field at the checkout.
I haven’t received my gift voucher via email, what do I do?
Once you have completed your transaction online, your gift voucher will be sent to your nominated email address. If you don’t receive an email or have any queries, please contact tickets@sydneyzoo.com or call our support line at 02 7202 2560.
How long is my gift voucher valid for?
All gift vouchers are valid for 3 years from purchase date. Refer to your gift voucher for your exact expiry date.
How do I check the balance of my card?

Does Sydney Zoo offer animal encounters/experiences?

I’m a member, do I get a discount?
Yes, annual members (not Unlimited or Platinum Pass holders) save 10% on all encounter and Mini Keeper program bookings.
Where is Sydney Zoo located?
We are located on the Great Western Highway at Bungarribee, near Eastern Creek. Our official address is 700 Great Western Highway, Bungarribee, NSW 2767.
How do I get to Sydney Zoo?
We will be accessible by car or public transport. We have excellent access to the M4 and M7 Motorways and will offer on-site parking.
How much is parking?
All parking at Sydney Zoo is FREE in our on-site car park.
What are your opening hours?
We are open every day from 9am – 5pm.
Can I leave the zoo and re-enter on the same day?
Yes you can! See our zoo entrance or zoo shop for a re-entry pass-out before you exit.
Is the zoo suitable for guests with a disability?
Sydney Zoo is 100% accessible – there will be no part of the Zoo that is off-limits to those in wheelchairs or those who require walking assistance. We’ve also made sure we’ve included wide pathways that span across the Zoo.
Do you offer prams or wheel chairs for hire?
We offer pram and wheel chair hire at the prices listed below. Give us a call on 02 7202 2560 ahead of your visit to organise.

The weight limit on scooters is 135kg based on manufacturer’s instructions. The hire of a mobility scooter is only available to persons with limited or restricted mobility i.e. a person who is not capable of walking large distances due to a medical condition, an injury, pregnancy, obesity or advancing age.
Sydney Zoo offers high quality mobility devices for hire from our information desk at the zoo entrance, subject to availability. Photo identification is required. For advanced bookings, please contact our Guest Services team at 02 7202 2560 as availability is limited.
How do I get a job at Sydney Zoo?
The best way to get a job is by checking our careers page and applying directly for any available positions. With so much interest, unfortunately we cannot accept job applications via email or social media messages for roles that aren’t currently advertised.

Does Sydney Zoo offer work experience for students?
We are proud to support the next generation of animal care professionals. We welcome students undertaking the following qualifications;
- Certificate III in Wildlife and Exhibited Animal Care (TAFE, 12–18 months)
- Certificate II in Animal Studies (TAFE, 6 months)

What course/s should I study if I want to work as a Zookeeper at Sydney Zoo?
The minimum requirement to work with our animals is Certificate III in Wildlife & Exhibited Animal Care. From there, you can go on to complete higher certificates or a university degree in Zoology or Animal Science.
