Step into a world where science, innovation and wildlife collide at Sydney Zoo’s Conservation Through Innovation - a dynamic, multi day National Science Week experience designed for families, students and curious minds of all ages.

When: Saturday 15th August to Sunday 23rd August

What to expect?

Find all 12 species on the Discovery Trail using your FREE activity sheet and map and collect a special take home activity at the end of the day
Be inspired by the stories of science in conservation, how small ideas change the world
Get hands on with FREE science activities every day at the Innovation Hub run by Sydney Zoo and visiting experts

Schools have the exciting opportunity to book in for a science focused excursion like no other and show students how even the smallest idea can turn into something world changing.

When: Monday 17th August to Friday 21st August

What to expect?

FREE Science Week Discovery Trail map and activity sheet for every student as well as a fun take-home activity at the end of the day
Exciting workshops everyday included in your science week excursion*
Discover how to become a citizen scientist
FREE activities and displays all day from Monday to Friday at the Innovation Hub including visiting experts

*Workshop topics will include animal adaptations, investigating nature, caring for Country and more. They will be delivered by Zoo teachers as well as experts from a range of other agencies and education institutions. The timetable will be confirmed by Term 3 2026 and will be communicated with schools that have booked. One workshop per student can be booked. Schools can choose not to book a workshop and just explore the zoo and event as a self-guided visit. Workshops can be booked for any stage and will be adjusted to the level of the students attending on the day.
