GLOW returns for 2026 with a new after-dark experience

A reimagined winter night trail transforms Western Sydney from 8 May – 14 June

Now in its fifth year, GLOW returns with an expanded footprint, striking light installations and immersive soundscapes that transform the zoo into a completely different world at night. Welcoming more than 100,000 visitors in 2025, GLOW has become one of Sydney’s most popular winter events, continuing to grow each year.

Visitors will follow a curated trail through the zoo, where large-scale light installations and layered sound design guide the journey from one zone to the next. Guests are invited to explore ROARing nights of light as the experience reveals the zoo in a new perspective after dark, shifting familiar enclosures into atmospheric scenes and offering rare glimpses of the zoo after hours.

The Luna Light Journey is a signature immersive experience created by Laservision, a leader in large-scale light, sound and multimedia installations, drawing on more than 40 years of expertise to transform outdoor environments and captivate audiences across Australia and globally.

Sydney Zoo Chief Executive Officer Michael Kelly said GLOW has continued to evolve into a signature winter experience for the city, “GLOW has quickly become a standout event in Sydney’s winter calendar, and each year we look at how we can make the experience even more engaging and memorable for our guests.”

“In 2026, the trail expands with new interactive installations and experiences that bring the zoo to life after dark, offering an accessible and enjoyable night out for families, friends and visitors from across Sydney and beyond,” Mr Kelly said.

Beyond the trail, guests can explore a range of food and beverage offerings throughout the zoo, alongside a carnival-style entertainment precinct located at the entry, operating as a free-entry zone open to both GLOW ticket holders and the wider zoo community.

Designed as an easy, all-ages night out in Western Sydney, GLOW offers a contained, walkable experience suited to families, couples and groups.

With limited capacity across the season and strong demand expected following previous sell-out years, guests are encouraged to book early to secure preferred dates.
