Tara has over 23 years experience in the zoo industry and has qualifications in zookeeping, animal attending and farm technology. She started her career volunteering at zoos and wildlife parks while she was studying, securing a role at Calmsley Hill City Farm where she worked her way up from a volunteer to a Farm Manager.
Tara joined Sydney Zoo in 2019 as 2IC of Australia and was promoted to Curator of Australia in 2020. Her passion is native wildlife and she especially loves koalas.
In her spare time, Tara rescues and trains working dogs. She loves building a relationship with them and finding them new homes.
