Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have utilised natural materials from their local environment using skill and innovation for many thousands of years. Students will explore how a wide variety of woven designs were used for fishing, gathering, and storing food, and carrying water. This practical workshop will teach students how to weave with natural materials using traditional methods.

Students will explore different environments in Africa, Asia and Australia. Learn about conservation and management efforts and their impact on charismatic species at Sydney Zoo. In this 90-minute program, students will become informed citizens and learn how they can directly impact species around the globe through environmental management.

This NEW program utilises technology to best engage students as they navigate the zoo with their Sydney Zoo teacher. Students are asked to bring a set of cabled headphones with a standard 3.5mm jack (not apple product headphones). One can be borrowed by students that do not have one.
