Ursus maritimus – "Sea Bear"
Polar bears are one of the few Ice Age animals still alive today. They are the largest bears on Earth, perfectly adapted to life on shifting sea ice.
A thick layer of fat and dense fur keeps them warm in freezing conditions. Their huge paws help them move easily across ice and act like paddles when swimming, making them powerful and efficient swimmers.
As apex predators, they mainly hunt seals, often waiting patiently beside breathing holes for them to surface. Polar bears are important apex predators in Arctic ecosystems, but melting sea ice is making survival increasingly difficult for them.

Polar bear fur only looks white – it is actually made of clear, hollow hairs that reflect light.

BUT HURRY – DON'T MISS YOUR CHANCE TO SEE THESE FROSTY WONDERS BEFORE THEY MELT AWAY.
