Grab your map and embark on an icy adventure in search of life-size, moving, roaring beasts that once ruled our frozen planet. Get up close to the mighty mammoth, ferocious sabre-toothed tiger, playful polar bear, woolly rhino, and many more! 

Plus, for the first time in Australia, marvel at the giant jaws of the massive megalodon shark.

Creatures of the Ice Age is FREE with your zoo ticket.

Explore the zoo to complete the quest. 

Pick up an activity sheet from the zoo entrance, and answer fun questions while you learn about tiger conservation along the way.

Looking for an extra thrill?

Head to our Rides Zone and take a spin on the Candy Swing or ride down the Super Slide!

  • Super Slide (all ages, riders under 3 years must be accompanied by a paying adult)

FAQs

What will be on display? 
A combination of both animatronic and static creatures of the ice age will be on display.

How much is entry?
Standard entry costs to Sydney Zoo apply. If you are a yearly pass holder, you must pre book your spot via the portal.

Can I still see the creatures if it’s raining?
The zoo will remain open in the rain, and you will still be able to see the creatures.

Where are the rides located?
In the Sydney Zoo car park on the gravel area. This area is accessible between the elephant and meerkat habitats.

Can I touch the Ice Creatures displays?
No, the creatures are very sensitive and cannot be touched.

Can I climb on the creatures for a photo?
No, this is very dangerous, and you may damage the display, however there will be a photo opportunity with the polar bear and cave bear.

Are there any themed retail items for purchase?
Yes, merchandise will be available from our gift shop located at the Zoo exit.

Where is the smoking area?
The smoking area is on the right-hand side of the retail shop outside of the Zoo, near the bike racks.

How many creatures are in the zoo?
We have 18 different creatures placed throughout the zoo.
