Bungarribee wildlife workshop

Explore Australia’s wildlife through Indigenous perspectives. Students will be introduced to a range of native animals and learn about how to care for Country through an interactive, hands-on experience.

Traditional technologies

Students will learn about the science behind traditional tools and weapons used in traditional hunting practices. After learning about boomerang technology and watching a demonstration, students will have the opportunity to practice throwing a boomerang.

Traditional food technology

This program explores traditional use of plants for food and medicines and how Aboriginal peoples have sustainably cared for Country for thousands of years. Students will learn about the seasons and cycles and how this influenced the movement of tribes across the land. In this session, students will have the opportunity to make some traditional foods with our Sydney Zoo cultural guides.
