Dinosaur Safari will lead you on a prehistoric adventure through Sydney Zoo, where you will discover all your favourite life-size, moving and roaring dinosaurs. With more than double the dinos, this year’s event is steg-o-soaring to new heights! Travel back through time and come face to face with a Triceratops, Velociraptor, the brilliant Brachiosaurus, mighty T-Rex and so much more!
If you look closely, you might even spot similarities between the animals at Sydney Zoo and these ancient creatures: the way they look and move, how they hunt or even how they rear their young.

Follow the footprints and you’ll have no trouble spotting the towering T-Rex or snap a photo inside the jaws of a giant Megalodon.
INTERACTIVE RAPTOR EXPERIENCE
Stop by the amphitheatre to enjoy an interactive experience that will have you roaring with delight as you learn fun dinosaur facts and get up close with the fierce yet fascinating star of the show.
Shows run on the hour between 10am-3pm on weekends only.

RIDES
Enjoy rides and games, perfect for the mini thrill-seeker!
- Teacups ride (all ages, riders under 2 years must be accompanied by an adult)
- Catch a Dino
- Bungee Trampoline (ages 2+, minimum weight 13kgs, maximum weight 80kgs)
- Go Gator Coaster (ages 2+, minimum height 85cm, riders under 100cm must be accompanied by an adult).
Rides are only operational on weekends.

What will be on display?

How much is entry?
Standard entry costs to Sydney Zoo apply. If you are an Annual Membership or Unlimited Pass holder, you must pre book your spot via the portal.
Can I still see the dinosaurs if it’s raining?
The zoo will remain open in the rain, and you will still be able to see the dinosaurs.
Where are the rides located?
In the Sydney Zoo car park on the gravel area. This area is accessible between the elephant and meerkat habitats.
How much is are the rides?
- Teacups Ride – $8
- Catch a Dino – 1 game for $6, 3 for $15, 6 for $25
- Bungee Trampoline – $10
- Go Gator Coaster – $8
- Or buy a Rides bundle which includes one of each of the above for $25
How do I purchase tickets for the rides?
Ride tickets bundles are available for purchase online at checkout. Alternatively, see our friendly team member at the ticket booth, located at the gate.
Can I ride the rides if it is raining?
The rides are in an uncovered outdoor area. If it does rain, we may need to temporarily close the rides.
What can I win from the “Catch a Dino” game?
Standard sideshow game prizes and plush toys of various sizes.
Can I touch the Dinosaur Safari displays?
No, the dinosaurs are very sensitive and cannot be touched.
Can I climb on the dinosaurs for a photo?
No, this is very dangerous, and you may damage the display, however there will be an immersive experience in the amphitheater which will allow you to get up close with a Raptor.
Are there any themed retail items for purchase?
Yes, dinosaur merchandise will be available from our gift shop located at the Zoo exit. Dinosaur show bags will also be available.
Where is the smoking area?
The smoking area is on the right-hand side of the retail shop outside of the Zoo, near the bike racks.
Will there be anything happening in the amphitheater?
Yes, there will be an interactive Raptor experience.
What time does the Interactive Raptor Experience happen?
On weekends, the Interactive Raptor Experience will happen hourly from 10am to 3pm with the last show finishing by 3.30pm.
Do I need to book a time slot for the Interactive Raptor Experience ?
No, the experience will operate on a first come, first served basis. Queuing will take place at the amphitheater.
How long does the Interactive Raptor Experience last?
The experience will last for approximately 25 minutes
Will the Interactive Raptor Experience go ahead if it is raining?
The experience is in an uncovered outdoor area. In the event of heavy rain, we may need to cancel some shows.
Is there be the opportunity for a photo with the Raptor during the Interactive Raptor Experience?
Yes, there will be an opportunity during the show for children to come forward and have their photo taken with the raptor.
How many dinosaurs are in the zoo?
We have 25 life sized dinosaurs placed across the zoo.
