Dinosaur Safari will lead you on a prehistoric adventure through Sydney Zoo, where you will discover all your favourite life-size, moving and roaring dinosaurs. With more than double the dinos, this year’s event is steg-o-soaring to new heights! Travel back through time and come face to face with a Triceratops, Velociraptor, the brilliant Brachiosaurus, mighty T-Rex and so much more!
If you look closely, you might even spot similarities between the animals at Sydney Zoo and these ancient creatures: the way they look and move, how they hunt or even how they rear their young.

Simply purchase a ticket or book a return visit between 6 July – 15 September to check out the roarsome dinosaurs!
Grab your Safari map and explore the zoo in search of dinosaurs big and small!
Follow the footprints and you’ll have no trouble spotting the towering T-Rex or snap a photo inside the jaws of a giant Megalodon.
Visit the Safari Shop to stock up on some T-riffic gifts!
Your little adventurers will be roaring with excitement over the dinosaur showbag, adorable dinosaur water bottles, palaeontologist kits, and so much more!

How much is entry?
Standard entry costs to Sydney Zoo apply. If you are an Annual Membership or Unlimited Pass holder, you must pre book your spot via the portal.
Can I still see the dinosaurs if it’s raining?
The zoo will remain open in the rain, and you will still be able to see the dinosaurs.
Where are the rides located?
In the Sydney Zoo car park on the gravel area. This area is accessible between the elephant and meerkat habitats.
Can I touch the Dinosaur Safari displays?
No, the dinosaurs are very sensitive and cannot be touched.
Can I climb on the dinosaurs for a photo?
No, this is very dangerous, and you may damage the display, however there will be an immersive experience in the amphitheater which will allow you to get up close with a Raptor.
Are there any themed retail items for purchase?
Yes, dinosaur merchandise will be available from our gift shop located at the Zoo exit. Dinosaur show bags will also be available.
Where is the smoking area?
The smoking area is on the right-hand side of the retail shop outside of the Zoo, near the bike racks.
How many dinosaurs are in the zoo?
We have 25 life sized dinosaurs placed across the zoo.
