Thanks to our partner MobileMuster, for the month of Ape-ril you will get a FREE coffee when you bring an old mobile phone to recycle with Sydney Zoo. Simply present your old phone for recycling to the front admissions desk upon arrival and you will receive a free coffee card to use at any of our cafes.
Recycling your old phone can have a big impact
One of the biggest threats to chimpanzees in the wild is the mining of minerals such as coltan, a metallic ore used in mobile phones and other electronic devices. As demand for mobile phones increases, so too does the mining of vital chimpanzee habitat.
You can help protect chimpanzees in the wild by simply donating your old mobile phones.
When you donate your old mobile phone or accessory to Sydney Zoo, the funds generated through recycling will help preserve chimpanzee habitat and go toward the Jane Goodall Institute Australia.

All data on phones is destroyed in the recycling process

Sydney Zoo has partnered with the Jane Goodall Institute Australia to inspire people to protect chimpanzees in central Africa. Every mobile phone we recycle plays its part to help preserve chimpanzee habitat and care for orphaned chimpanzees.
