Sydney Zoo teams up with Ronald McDonald House Charities

Sydney Zoo are pleased to announce that local charity Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Western Sydney have been named as the first official charity partner for the zoo.

Belinda Woolford, CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Western Sydney said “We are delighted to have been selected as the first charity partner of Sydney Zoo. Sydney Zoo will be an amazing facility for families from Western Sydney and beyond. For the families that stay at our House in Westmead, the new Zoo will offer them much needed family time, and the funds raised through the partnership  will assist us to continue to support seriously ill children and their families 365 days a year.”

The pioneering partnership will see Sydney Zoo partner with the charity to raise vital funds to support the families in the House, on-site activations, never before seen technological support for families in need, as well as Sydney Zoo staff donating valuable time to support the “Working Bee” program.

 Jake Burgess, Managing Director of Sydney Zoo added “We are delighted to announce our partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities – Greater Western Sydney and look forward to working alongside them to raise awareness and vital funds for this fantastic charity. For many seriously ill children at Ronald McDonald House Charities they may never have the opportunity to visit a zoo, so we look forward to bringing Sydney Zoo to those children and their families over the next three years through the use of technology.”
