Mini Keeper for a Day (Ages 8-12)
Perfect for kids who love wild animals and want to experience what it’s like to be a real zookeeper. The Mini Keeper program allows kids to experience a day packed with animal encounters and keeper activities, as well as actively learning throughout the experience.
Throughout the day, Mini Keepers may:
• Help prepare animal feeds
• Assist with feeding animals
• Take photos with reptiles and Australian animals
• Learn how keepers care for animals and their habitats
• Learn fun facts about local wildlife
• Create animal enrichment items

Cadet Keeper for a Day (Ages 13-17)
Designed for teens who are interested in animal welfare, wildlife conservation, or a future career working with animals. Sydney Zoo’s Cadet Keeper for a Day program offers a deeper insight into what it takes to be a keeper and the daily responsibilities that come with looking after our amazing animals.
Cadet Keepers will participate in activities such as:
• Preparing specialised animal diets and feeds
• Assisting keepers with daily animal care
• Creating enrichment items to stimulate natural animal behavior
• Participate in a Q&A session with education team and keepers
• Photos with a range of different animals
