Sydney Zoo is located in the heart of Western Sydney with great transport access and minutes away from key locations and other entertainment attractions.

Getting here

Located on the Great Western Highway, we are accessible by car, public transport or rideshare services. We have excellent access to the M4 and M7 Motorways and will offer on-site parking. Read more information about our location, parking options and opening hours.

Arriving by bus

Route 729 services travel to Sydney Zoo every 25-30 minutes from Blacktown and Mount Druitt train Stations via Minchinbury.

  • Route 729 service bus stops are located either side of the Great Western Highway.
  • Passengers traveling from Blacktown train station should use Stand E
  • Passengers traveling from Mount Druitt train station should use Stand A

Route 723 services travel to Sydney Zoo every 15-30 minutes from Blacktown and Mount Druitt train Stations on weekdays.

  • Route 723 service bus stops are located on Rudder Street (a little further away)
  • Passengers traveling from Blacktown train station should use Stand E
  • Passengers traveling from Mount Druitt train station should use Stand F

Accessibility

Sydney Zoo was designed to be inclusive for all our visitors. All public areas and exhibits are accessible by wheelchair or mobility scooter. The zoo is relatively flat with wide pathways that span across the zoo, making your visit easy. In fact, we have no stairs in the entire zoo! We will offer stroller and mobility device hire, see below for pricing and booking information.

Concession Cards

We offer concession rates for the following:

  • Full-time students (with photo ID showing a valid date or ability to login to school intranet to show current registration)
  • Pension Card holders
  • Seniors Card holders
  • Health Care Card holders
  • Visitors over the age of 65 (with drivers licence or passport)

Valid identification must be provided at the ticket desk or express entry on arrival. Photo ID may also be required. Please have your cards ready for easy entry.

These discounts are only available to the card holder, all other visitors (including other names on the card) will pay regular ticket prices.

Companion Cards

The Companion Card is for people with severe or profound disability, who require a companion or high-level attendant to provide support in order to participate at most available community venues and activities.

We offer complimentary entry to companions or carers with the purchase of a ticket or membership for the person needing support. Please see the ticket desk on arrival for assistance.

If a membership is purchased, simply present the companion card each time you visit together with the membership digital ticket.

Stroller and Mobility Device Hire

Sydney Zoo offers high quality mobility devices for hire from our information desk at the zoo entrance subject to availability. Photo identification is required. For advanced bookings, please contact our reservations team at 1800 843 966 as availability is limited. Pricing for hire of these devices is below.

$15 plus $20 refundable deposit.

Wheelchair Hire proudly supported by Sunrise Medical.

Free plus $50 refundable deposit.

Electric Mobility Scooter proudly supported by Sunrise Medical.

$20 per day plus $80 refundable deposit.

The weight limit on scooters is 135kg based on manufacturer’s instructions. The hire of a mobility scooter is only available to persons with limited or restricted mobility i.e. a person who is not capable of walking large distances due to a medical condition, an injury, pregnancy, obesity or advancing age.
