GLOW at Sydney Zoo

When does the event start and finish?
5:30pm to 9:30pm, with last entry at 7:30pm.

Can we access the whole zoo?
Tickets include access to the GLOW Light Walk which is an illuminated path through Primate Boulevard, the Reptile house and the Australia precinct. All other areas of the zoo are not accessible during the event.

Will I get to see animals?
The GLOW Light Walk includes entry to our Reptile house where you can visit some of our scaly and spiky residents. While some of our other animals outdoors may be visible during your visit, we cannot guarantee you will be able to see them. We prioritise the welfare of our animals and allow them access to their night dens at all times.

Will the animals be affected?
No. We prioritise the safety and welfare of our animals and have ensured the event footprint and activations will not affect the animals in any way.

Will the light walk art be visible during the day?
GLOW at Sydney Zoo is a special event with lights and attractions that can’t be experienced at Sydney Zoo during the day. While you may be able to see some of the sculptures during the day, they will not be illuminated or interactive, and will be barriered from public access.

What food and drink options will be available?
Blackbear BBQ, Clukn Chicken food truck, GLOW Lightbulb Drinks, KIIS Fairy Floss, Streets Ice cream, Coffee, 4 Pines Bar including alcoholic beverages, Waffle dessert truck and more.

Are your restaurant and cafes open during the event?
As there are many delicious food options available from the food trucks in the GLOW Zone, our restaurant and cafes inside the zoo will not be open during the event.

Is GLOW accessible?
Yes, Sydney Zoo is a wheelchair accessible site with no hills or steps. All areas of the event are accessible for guests with wheelchairs. Please note that the KIIS Eye Ferris wheel and Ice Rink may not be suitable for guests with compromised mobility, please speak to our friendly visitor experience staff to discuss your needs.

Do you offer prams, wheelchairs or mobility scooters for hire?
We offer pram and wheel chair hire and recommend pre-booking before you visit by calling us on 02 7202 2560.

What is the Secret UV Safari?
On entry, every child will receive a special map, UV pen and torch to experience a Secret UV Safari, where your family will explore the zoo’s Primate Boulevard and Australia precinct and discover a hidden animal trail. Please note the torches cannot be used in the Reptile House.

What can’t I bring to the GLOW event?
Please refer to our Conditions of Entry.

Can I leave the event and re-enter on the same night?
You can access the GLOW Light Walk and GLOW Zone as many times as you’d like on the same night. Your wristband will gain you access all evening.

Photosensitive Epilepsy Caution
This event may not be suitable for people with Photosensitive Epilepsy. Some lighting used at this event may be disruptive to people who are sensitive to light.

What is the Blacktown City Festival Night?
Blacktown City Council will be activating a Festival Night at GLOW on the 17th of May. This can be accessed by a special promo code. This offer is only valid to Blacktown City Council residents and attendees will be required to show ID on arrival.

Can I bring an umbrella?
Umbrellas are welcome onsite, and can also be purchased at the GLOW Retail Outlets throughout the GLOW Light Walk.

Are Ice Skating prices any cheaper if I bring my own skates?
There is no discounted price for bringing your own skates, however feel free to bring your own skates if you wish.

Is the event COVID Safe?
GLOW at Sydney Zoo is primarily an outdoor and COVID safe event with wide, open spaces and limited capacity in each session time. Read more about our COVID Safe plan at www.sydneyzoo.com/covid-19

What COVID precautions do I need to take as a guest?
If you are feeling unwell, please do not attend. All guests must socially distance 1.5m from other guests

How long does the GLOW Light Walk take?
The GLOW Light Walk will take approximately 45 mins – 1 hour at a comfortable pace. You are able to spend an unlimited amount of time in the GLOW Zone until closing time.

What are the session times?
5:30pm, 6:00pm, 6:30pm, 7:00pm and 7:30pm. The event is approximately a 2 hour experience.

Can I arrive outside of my session time?
To aid in social distancing and to ensure you can easily obtain a car parking space, we recommend you arrive for the session time you have booked. We are limiting the number of guests entering the zoo and have staggered arrival times throughout the night to aid in social distancing. You can stay as long as you want and all tickets include FREE parking.

Can I arrive earlier?
GLOW at Sydney Zoo starts at 5:30pm. If you are a member or have a separate booking for earlier in the day, you will be required to leave the zoo by 4pm and re-enter after 5:30pm so we can prepare for the event.

What are ticket prices?
Adult tickets (aged 16+): Gate price $30. Online $25 – go FREE when you use a Service NSW voucher code online!
Children (aged 3-15): Gate price $30. Online $25
Infants (0-2): FREE – but still require a booked ticket to help manage guest capacity

Can I use my Service NSW vouchers to buy event tickets?

Do you offer concession tickets?
No concession tickets are available, however adult tickets are FREE when you use a Service NSW voucher online.

Can I buy tickets at the gate?
We recommend pre-booking tickets online to avoid missing out. If there are spots left each night, tickets will be available to purchase at the gate.

Can I change my booking date or get a refund?

Tickets can be re-scheduled up to 24 hours before your visit until the end of the event, unless sold out. Tickets are non-refundable.

Do I get a refund if it’s raining?
As an all-weather event, tickets cannot be refunded. The event will proceed unless weather conditions are unsafe (e.g. very heavy rain or lightning). Please come prepared in warm clothing and bring any wet weather gear, raincoats, and ponchos you may need! If a session is canceled due to unsafe weather conditions, ticket holders will be contacted and you will be able to transfer your ticket to another available session.

What is included in my ticket?
Every GLOW event ticket includes access to the GLOW Light Walk and GLOW Zone, to experience light activations including the Trumpet Flowers, Octopoda, Neon Garden, roving performers and the Secret UV Safari for kids.

Does my GLOW ticket include day entry to the zoo?
No, the GLOW ticket includes entry to GLOW at Sydney Zoo from 5:30pm to 9:30pm only. If you’d like to experience Sydney Zoo and our animals during the day, you can purchase a day ticket at www.sydneyzoo.com

Does my day ticket include entry to GLOW?
No, a Sydney Zoo day ticket or membership includes zoo entry only during the day from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Are the KIIS Eye Ferris wheel, GLOW Ice Rink, Space Jam included in my ticket?
The KIIS Eye Ferris wheel, Ice Rink and Space Jam are not included in GLOW tickets, however every GLOW ticket includes access to the GLOW Light Walk to experience the light art and Interactive GLOW Zone to experience light activations including the Trumpet Flowers, Octopoda, and Neon Garden, roving performers and the Secret UV Safari for kids.

What are the KIIS Eye Ferris wheel, GLOW Ice Rink, Space Jam ticket prices?
The Ice Rink will be $20 per person including skate and penguin hire for a 30 minute session. The Space Jam will be $10 per person. The KIIS Eye Ferris wheel will be $8 for non-members and $7 for members. Tickets are available from the ticket booths in the GLOW Zone. The use of the KIIS Eye Ferris wheel and Ice Rink are subject to availability on the night.

I don’t want the penguin hire, is there a reduced price?
The use of the penguins are provided FREE of charge. There is no discount if you do not wish to use them.

Is the Companion Card honoured for this event?
We offer complimentary entry to a companion or carer with the purchase of a ticket or membership for the person needing support. Please see the information desk on arrival for assistance.

Does it cost anything to watch the GLOW Ice Rink?
Spectators can watch from around the outside of the rink for FREE.

Is there an age restriction for the GLOW Ice Rink?
There is no age restriction, however we recommend ages 5 and under have a parent or guardian with them.

I purchased tickets but can no longer attend – can I give my tickets to a friend?
You can certainly pass your GLOW tickets to a friend, however if they are the Blacktown City Council tickets, they can only be passed to a friend who lives in the Blacktown Local Government Area.

Where is event parking?
FREE parking is included in your ticket at our onsite car park. On arrival, follow the instructions of event staff who will direct you to the parking area.

Where do we park if the car park is full?
The capacity of the venue is based on the number of car spots we have available. Please follow directions from our car park marshals upon arrival.

I am a Sydney Zoo member, can I enter for FREE?
Entry to GLOW at Sydney Zoo is not included in your membership. GLOW at Sydney Zoo is a special event with lights and attractions that can’t be experienced at Sydney Zoo during the day.

Do I get a members discount?
Keep an eye out for the member presale offer sent to the specified email address on the account. Members will get a discount on the KIIS Eye Ferris wheel at $7 per ride and on retail GLOW products. There are no members discounts on the GLOW Ice Rink, Space Jam, or food and beverage.
